Azure AD Connect was released several years ago, and several of its components have been scheduled for deprecation and updated to newer versions. Attempting to update all these components individually would require detailed planning and time.
Microsoft has released the Azure AD Connect V2 version - the latest version built on the current foundational components and serves to accomplish your organization's hybrid identity goals.
Noventiq, as a Microsoft Azure MSP partner, is offering this 24-Hour deployment service at USD 1,000.
Why should you be getting Azure AD Connect V2?
- Fact#1: Microsoft expects TLS 1.0/1.1 will deprecate in 2022, and you need to ensure you aren't using these protocols by said date as your service may stop working unexpectedly.
- Fact#2: Azure AD Connect Health will be retired after December 2022. With Azure AD Connect V2, Microsoft will auto-upgrade all Health agents to the latest version before 2022. However, due to compatibility issues, auto-upgrade is not happening if you are running Azure AD Connect V1.
- Fact#3: After December 2022, ADAL (Azure Active Directory Authentication Library) will be out of support. The authentication could be retired unexpectedly, disabling the Azure AD Connect server's functionality.
Therefore, we strongly advise you to upgrade to Azure AD Connect V2 before December 2022.
Pre-requisite: Windows SQL Server 2019 - Since Azure AD Connect v2 contains SQL Server 2019 components and no longer supported older Windows Server versions such as Windows Server 2012 and Windows Server 2012 R2.
